The Challenge:

To create a brand new experience for Allstate’s Roadside Services mobile application that allowed users to track the status of their rescue in real time. Motorists on the side of the road need reassurance that they are being taken care of and that everything is going smoothly.

I needed to:

• Work closely with developers
• Understand the problem
• Create a viable solution
• Keep the design clean and simple

Approach

It was important to think through this new feature for the user from start to finish to truly understand how we could ease this transaction. We began by leading sketch sessions with the business utilizing human centered design methodologies. We also researched other experiences with similar features for inspiration.

I needed to:

• Put myself in the shoes of the user
• Facilitate brainstorming sessions
• Work closely with backend devs
• Iterate as needed, through research and feedback
